The American Heart Association and The American College of Sports Medicine urge older adults to exercise regularly; even at moderate levels exercise can slow age related changes in heartrate,aerobic capacity and muscle mass. Numerous studies show that greater physical activity is associated with decreased risk of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes and obesity.

At BodyStyling we offer the following program to baby boomers:

  • Aerobic Activity: We will determine your target heart rate zone for moderate to high intensity activity for 3 - 5 days per week.
  • Muscle Strengthening: 8 - 10 exercises using weights on two or more nonconsecutive days per week.
  • Flexibility: Stretching activities to maintain or increase flexibility 2 - 5 days per week.
  • Balance: Exercises that maintain or improve balance and stability to decrease risk of falls.

We will use the above template to create an individualized exercise plan tailored to your specific needs. In addition, we monitor your progress and plan to increase amounts overtime gradually.
